Benedict Bernstein

Benedict S. Bernstein focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation, with a particular emphasis on cases involving new and complex legal and factual issues. He represents a range of clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts and in arbitration proceedings, including sports and gaming industry clients, government contractors and foreign sovereigns.  

During law school, Mr. Bernstein interned with the Appellate Staff of the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, Chief Judge Susan G. Braden of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Judge Rosslyn R. Mauskopf of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University.

Mr. Bernstein previously worked for several years at a leading financial-industry consulting firm advising the world’s largest and most complex financial institutions on a variety of risk and regulatory issues. In that role, Mr. Bernstein relocated to Beijing where he advised the largest Chinese banks on issues related to anti-money laundering, sanctions compliance and other issues of particular importance to U.S. and international financial regulators. Mr. Bernstein has also previously worked at the United Nations Department of Safety and Security in Damascus, Syria and at the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
