Judah Bellin

Judah Bellin focuses his practice on intellectual property with an emphasis on patent litigation across the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and technology sectors. He has extensive experience litigating complex patent disputes in federal courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and related proceedings. Trusted with all phases of complex litigation, Mr. Bellin handles matters from initial case strategy and complaint drafting through fact and expert discovery, claim construction, dispositive motions, trial, and appeal. He also brings deep experience at the intersection of intellectual property and antitrust law, including the defense of Walker Process claims.

Mr. Bellin regularly represents leading pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in high-stakes patent infringement and Hatch-Waxman litigation. His experience includes representing GlaxoSmithKline in Hatch-Waxman litigation involving the BREO ELLIPTA® inhaler product, and defending Johnson & Johnson against class-action Walker Process antitrust claims related to the monoclonal antibody Stelara, in which the district court granted summary judgment on a motion for reconsideration on the eve of trial. He has also represented Sanofi and Genzyme in patent infringement suits involving rAAV gene therapies, as well as Baxter and Celerity Pharmaceuticals in litigation involving generic versions of BELRAPZO® (bendamustine).

In addition, Mr. Bellin has represented Boston Scientific in a multi-patent infringement suit involving endoscopic hemostasis clips and Gatekeeper Systems in an ITC investigation and related district court litigation concerning anti-theft shopping cart systems.

Mr. Bellin also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining Dechert's intellectual property group, Mr. Bellin completed a clerkship with Chief Judge Leonard P. Stark in the District of Delaware.
