Wilfred T. Beaye, Jr.

Wilfred T. Beaye, Jr. is an associate in the firm’s securities and complex commercial litigation group. His practice encompasses securities, complex commercial disputes, internal investigations and regulatory enforcement. He brings trial-tested experience from both government service and private practice and has represented clients ranging from multinational corporations and professional sports leagues to incarcerated individuals and asylum seekers.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Beaye served as a trial attorney in the Criminal Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where he investigated and prosecuted federal criminal civil rights violations nationwide. He tried five cases to verdict—two complex, multidefendant trials in federal court and three in D.C. Superior Court as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney—and led multiple grand jury investigations.

Mr. Beaye began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Gerald A. McHugh of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Honorable Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He then practiced at a leading law firm, where he litigated securities, antitrust, white-collar and M&A disputes, including two trials, one multi-week trial before a federal administrative tribunal and one in arbitration. He also conducted internal investigations and regularly advised on board-level responses to regulatory and litigation risk.

Mr. Beaye earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as Executive Managing Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights–Civil Liberties Law Review and received the Dean’s Scholar Prize in Federal Courts and the Federal System. He earned his B.A. in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, with a minor in Philosophy, from Temple University and was awarded the Neysa and Arlin Adams Prize for Excellence in Pre-Law Studies.

Mr. Beaye has also maintained an active pro bono practice throughout his career, including serving as a lead attorney on a pro bono civil rights class action that resulted in court-ordered healthcare reforms at a maximum-security prison and helping to secure asylum for two Honduran women and their respective children who fled after receiving death threats.
