Katherine Corey

Katherine Corey is counsel in Dechert’s Philadelphia office and a member of the financial services and investment management practice group with approximately 15 years’ experience in the funds industry.

Prior to joining Dechert in 2025, she spent over a decade as in-house counsel at a global asset manager where she managed a team responsible for all legal matters related to the company’s U.S. open-end funds, listed closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds.

Ms. Corey’s experience also includes work on retail advisory and model delivery arrangements and collective investment trusts. She has extensive experience with fund reorganizations and changes in investment advisers relating to asset manager mergers and acquisitions; providing day-to-day advice to investment advisers' product and compliance teams on a wide variety of matters; assisting with the implementation of new rules and regulations; and addressing issues specifically impacting listed closed-end funds.

Ms. Corey began her legal career in the investment management practice group at another international law firm advising funds, their boards and investment advisers, particularly alternative strategy tender offer closed-end funds.

Her prior experience also includes policy-related internships in the United States Senate, for a think tank and for the government and regulatory affairs practice group of a national law firm.
