Lawton Camp is a seasoned structured finance and securitization lawyer who advises underwriters, arrangers, originators, issuers, credit enhancers and investors across a broad spectrum of capital markets transactions. Mr. Camp brings deep transactional experience and a client-focused approach that spans traditional asset classes and innovative platforms alike.
Mr. Camp's practice encompasses financing and securitizing auto leases and loans; credit card, trade, and consumer finance receivables; triple-net leases; large-ticket leases; small business loans; emerging markets receivables; and various esoteric assets. He also counsels clients on the structuring of bank credit-risk transfer transactions, collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs), catastrophe bonds and various derivative instruments and structured products.
Mr. Camp has represented issuers and dealers on multiple bank debt and covered bond programs across the United States, Canada and Europe. His experience includes advising the dealer group on the first-ever registration of a covered bond program with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Camp is actively engaged in structuring warehouse facilities and securitizations for fintech lending platforms and has advised clients on blockchain-based projects involving the ownership and transfer of physical assets. He frequently speaks and publishes on structured finance and securitization topics.
