May Chiang focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and represents clients in a broad range of matters before federal and state courts.

Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Chiang served as a clerk in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. There, she encountered a wide variety of legal issues, including class certification, expert qualification, and contract interpretation. Before her clerkship, Ms. Chiang worked as an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of another law firm, where she represented clients in a wide range of litigation and regulatory matters. Her previous experience also includes serving as a legal intern in the Office of White House Counsel and as a student counsel in Georgetown Law’s Appellate Litigation Clinic.

In 2014, Ms. Chiang was included in the 2014 Lawyers of Color Hot List for the Mid-Atlantic Region, which recognizes early to mid-career attorneys of color excelling in the legal profession.
