Lina Maria Diaz Gonzalez is an associate in Dechert's Finance and Real Estate group. She represents financial institutions and borrowers in complex commercial finance and real estate transactions, with experience spanning secured credit facilities, leveraged finance, commercial real estate finance and property acquisitions and dispositions.
Lina advises clients across the full arc of a transaction — from structuring and documentation through negotiation, closing and, where necessary, enforcement. Her commercial lending experience includes term loans, revolving credit and working capital facilities, warehouse lines of credit and equity-pledge structures, with deal sizes ranging from US$500,000 to US$55 million. On the real estate side, she has represented both lenders and borrowers in mortgage and construction finance transactions and has acted for buyers and sellers in commercial property closings, including serving as primary associate on a commercial asset sale.
Lina's practice reflects a commitment to practical, client-focused counsel across the lending and real estate sectors.
- Represented Firstrust Bank in a US$2.5 million commercial lending transaction and related workout matters, including loan amendments, forbearance agreements, and confessed judgment enforcement.
- Represented Firstrust Bank in a US$55 million asset-based financing secured by equity and intellectual property assets, including negotiation and preparation of loan, security, and guaranty documentation.
- Advised purchaser in the acquisition of commercial real estate, including title and survey review, contract diligence, title objection resolution, and closing preparation.
- Represented a lender in a US$33.5 million commercial real estate financing transaction, preparing and negotiating loan, mortgage, leasing, and security documentation.
- Advised seller in the disposition of commercial real estate assets, handling transaction structuring, leasing matters, closing documents, and transaction execution.
- Represented a purchaser in a commercial real estate acquisition, including title due diligence, survey review, title objection negotiations, and closing coordination.
- Advised borrower in obtaining a US$10 million commercial real estate loan, reviewing and negotiating financing, security, organizational, and closing documents.
- Represented Firstrust Bank in a US$2 million revolving credit facility amendment, including guarantor modifications and maturity extensions.
- Represented Firstrust Bank in a US$11.5 million credit facility consisting of term loans and revolving credit financing, including amendments and loan agreement modifications.
- Represented Firstrust Bank in a US$15 million warehouse line of credit transaction, managing closing documentation, UCC filings, and post-closing compliance matters.
- Assisted borrower in a leveraged financing transaction, preparing organizational, financing, and closing documents in connection with a credit facility.
