Jeffrey S. Edwards is an associate in the intellectual property litigation group. Mr. Edwards has represented companies engaged in patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret litigation, as well as complex commercial litigation.
- Successful representation of a major medical device manufacturer on Lanham Act claims of reverse passing off against a competitor in litigation also involving claims of trade secret misappropriation, breaches of fiduciary duty and contract, and unfair competition.
- Successful defense of a prominent collectibles company in litigation by a former independent contractor alleging copyright infringement of a trophy design for a major sporting body. Secured summary judgment at the district court level, and successfully defended appeal.
- Successfully represented an international company against allegations of unauthorized software copying and use.
- Handled numerous issues in patent infringement litigation against manufacturers of computer monitors encompassing infringing power management features.
- Successfully defended an insurance company in a lawsuit by a state insurance department for the return of funds allegedly improperly paid from a state catastrophic injury fund, and prevailed on a counterclaim for additional statutorily-mandated funds, resulting in net US$1 million benefit to client.
