Mr. Kim has particular depth in matters that combine deal complexity with regulatory or jurisdictional difficulty, including distressed acquisitions, multi-step consolidations, regulated infrastructure investments and cross-border joint ventures. Fluent in Korean, he is regularly engaged by Korean conglomerates on outbound investments into Southeast Asia and global markets. Technology, Digital Infrastructure and Telecommunications

Advised SK hynix Inc. on the launch of its US$10 billion AI investment and solutions platform, AI Co., establishing the first dedicated AI investment vehicle by a major memory semiconductor company.
Advised SK hynix Inc. on its US$9 billion acquisition of Intel's global SSD and NAND flash memory business, completing the second phase closing in March 2025.
Advised Udenna Corporation on its US$5.4 billion joint venture with China Telecommunications Corporation to establish DITO Telecommunity, the Philippines' third national mobile operator. ALB named this transaction M&A Deal of the Year (Premium).
Advised on the Grab-Singtel consortium joint venture established to apply for and operate a digital full bank licence in Singapore, which became GXS Bank Pte. Ltd., one of two digital full bank licences awarded by the Monetary Authority of Singapore in December 2020.

Energy and Infrastructure

Advised I Squared Capital on the structuring and US$370 million minority sale of its India city-gas distribution platform to Osaka Gas, Sumitomo Corporation and JOIN, following an initial up-to-US$300 million joint venture with AG&P covering 12 concessions.
Advised PT Medco Daya Energi Sentosa on the acquisition of Ratch Group's interests in PT Paiton Energy, Minejesa Capital B.V. and IPM Asia Pte. Ltd., completing a multi-year, four-transaction consolidation that established Medco as the single largest shareholder in Indonesia's largest independent power producer (approximately 2 gigawatts of baseload capacity).
Advised SK Gas on its joint venture with Apex Clean Energy to develop utility-scale energy storage projects.

Consumer, Retail and Healthcare

Advised Masan Group on a US$350 million Series E investment in The CrownX Corporation at a US$8.2 billion valuation, with participation from TPG, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and SeaTown (Temasek).
Advised Masan Group on the sale of H.C. Starck Holding GmbH, a global tungsten business, to Mitsubishi Materials Corporation.
Advised Masan Group on a US$410 million investment in VCM Services and Trading by SK Group.

Special Situations

Advised Lightstorm (I Squared Capital) on the distressed acquisition of the JGA-North, JGA-South and SEA-US trans-Pacific subsea cable systems through parallel receiverships in Delaware and Singapore, securing approximately 21,000 km of data corridor connecting the United States, Guam, Japan and Australia. IJGlobal named this transaction Value-Add Deal of the Year (2025).
Advised BSQ Capital Partners on the accelerated exit from its convertible bond investment in Hyper Corporation Inc. (KOSDAQ: 065650), structured through Singapore and BVI entities and resulting in full recovery of principal and accrued interest through an early issuer redemption.
