Avni Patel is a counsel in Dechert’s global finance practice and is based in New York. Ms. Patel represents banks and other financial institutions, including many prominent non-bank private lenders, as well as borrowers, private equity sponsors and public companies across the private credit space.

Ms. Patel’s experience covers a wide range of complex financing transactions, including first and second lien credit facilities; middle market and large cap financings; and both cross-border and domestic acquisition financings. She also advises on leveraged lending; direct and syndicated lending; unitranche and first out/last out financings; structured financial arrangements; asset-based lending and debt restructuring transactions.

In addition, Ms. Patel has significant experience representing private credit direct lenders in loans to public companies, privately-owned firms and portfolio companies of various private equity funds. Moreover, she has advised on opportunities in existing credits and bespoke credit structures for stressed and distressed companies.

Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Patel was a banking and finance associate at another international law firm.
