Atena Sheibani-Nejad is an associate in Dechert’s corporate group, focusing her practice on capital markets and permanent capital vehicles. She primarily represents business development companies, registered closed-end funds and other public and private entities in connection with their efforts to raise capital and launch market operations.
In addition, Ms. Sheibani-Nejad advises issuers on debt and equity offerings and exchanges, securities law compliance and corporate governance. She also represents asset managers and companies in special situations and capital markets transactions, as well as credit investors and distressed companies in recapitalization and refinancing transactions.
Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Sheibani-Nejad worked at another global law firm in New York and Washington, D.C.
During law school, Ms. Sheibani-Nejad served as a notes editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal, a writing fellow, and co-founder and president of the Middle Eastern and North African Law Student Association.
