Ella Smith focuses her practice on global finance with a concentration in commercial real estate finance and securitization matters. Ms. Smith represents commercial banks, investment banks, non-bank lenders, private equity and debt funds and other financial institutions, such as issuers, underwriters, mortgage loan sellers and investors in commercial real estate collateralized loan obligations (CRE CLOs) and commercial mortgage-backed securitization (CMBS) transactions.

Ms. Smith also has significant experience in secondary market high-yield debt and private equity trading, asset-backed securitizations and warehouse structures, including repurchase facilities and credit facilities. She is an active participant in industry trade organizations, such as the CRE Finance Council (CREFC) and the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA).

In 2019, Ms. Smith was recognized as a "Working Mother of the Year" in the October/November issue of Working Mother.

Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Smith was an associate in the corporate finance department of a large international law firm.
