Josh Strathman

Josh Strathman advises lenders, borrowers, issuers, underwriters and asset originators on sophisticated asset-backed financing and securitization transactions across a wide range of asset classes and industries. Mr. Strathman brings a commercial, results-oriented approach to complex capital markets matters, guiding clients through public and private securities offerings with strategic clarity and precise execution.

Mr. Strathman represents a broad range of market participants – including asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP) conduits, servicers and placement agents – in structured finance transactions spanning diverse asset classes. These include auto loans and leases, equipment loans and leases, credit card receivables, commercial loans, pharmaceutical royalties and unsecured consumer loans. He also advises clients on loan portfolio acquisitions and commercial real estate repurchase agreements.

His practice spans industries, including automotive, fintech, healthcare and life sciences, and retail and consumer products. Drawing on experience representing both lenders and investors, Mr. Strathman anticipates client needs and delivers confident counsel in high-stakes, fast-moving situations.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Strathman was counsel at another global law firm. He also brought valuable in-house perspective from his time as senior corporate counsel at NeoPets, an online media subsidiary of Viacom – experience that informed his practical, business-minded approach to client service.
