Morgan Shields

Morgan Shields is an associate in Dechert’s litigation pool. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shields served as a law clerk in the Office of Justice Programs at the U.S. Department of Justice and interned with the Office of the Attorney General for Maryland’s Department of Human Services.

Ms. Shields earned her law degree from Duke University School of Law where she served as a staff editor for Law and Contemporary Problems and held executive board positions with the Black Law Students Association and the Women of Color Collective.

  • Civil Protection Order Clinic – Worked alongside volunteer legal advocates to draft petitions for survivors of domestic violence seeking civil protection orders.
  • Wills – Advised clients on estate planning and drafted wills, transfer on death deeds, financial powers of attorney and health care directives.
