Dechert Named by Legal Week as British Legal Awards Finalist

October 21, 2016

Dechert LLP has been named by Legal Week as a finalist for “Banking & Finance Team of the Year” in the 2016 British Legal Awards, which are the “leading awards for the UK's thriving business law community acting as a showcase for the achievements of one of the country's most successful sectors.”

Dechert was chosen as a finalist for its work advising Banque Centrale de Tunisie in its issuance on behalf of the Republic of Tunisia of a US$500 million bond guaranteed by the United States. The Dechert team’s advice on the constitutional implications of an unexpected political circumstance was crucial in allowing the issuance to proceed. The five-year bond was successfully issued in August 2016 and priced at 1.416%. The Dechert team was led by corporate partner Camille Abousleiman, head of the firm’s capital markets group, and included corporate partner Patrick Lyons.

Winners will be announced by Legal Week at an awards ceremony held in association with The City of London Law Society at Finsbury Square in London on November 24.
