Litera Names Dechert Among Top Law Firms for Innovation

October 02, 2020

Dechert LLP has been named among the top three law firms for innovation in The Changing Lawyer Awards 2020, which were established by Litera Microsystems to celebrate those who champion change within the legal profession.

Litera first produced The Changing Lawyer in 2017 as a collection of articles exploring legal innovation. The awards were established to recognize individuals, firms and companies for their willingness to embrace change through new technology, service models or behavior.

This year, Dechert was named as one of three finalists for “Law Firm of the Year”, a category honoring firms that have “most successfully reimagined the way they serve their clients.”

Litera praised Dechert’s willingness to invest in the development of innovative internal platforms that in turn allow the firm to deliver technology-enhanced services externally to clients. The panel of judges noted the benefits brought by “Search: International Arbitration @ Dechert”, or SIA@D, a knowledge management system developed for the firm’s international arbitration practice. The SIA@D KM model is currently being evaluated for use by other disputes-oriented practice groups at Dechert.

Litera also pointed to the firm’s success in the development and deployment of an innovative global disclosure strategy for Airbus SE that underpinned its unprecedented same-day settlement of a major investigation with UK, French and U.S. authorities.

Winners in The Changing Lawyer Awards were announced online on October 1.
