National Law Journal Names Dechert to its Appellate Hot List for 2021

August 26, 2021

Dechert LLP has been named to the National Law Journal’s Appellate Hot List, an annual list recognizing law firms that have engaged in exemplary appellate advocacy on behalf of clients.

Dechert was selected for its repeat successes in the appellate courts over the past year, including multiple Tenth Circuit wins that succeeded in overturning an extreme infringement of women’s reproductive rights in Oklahoma. Acting pro bono, a team of Dechert litigators led by New York-based trial lawyer Linda Goldstein challenged an executive order that forced abortion clinics in the state to close their doors and deny essential healthcare to pregnant women. Working as co-counsel with the Center for Reproductive Rights, the advocates first won a preliminary injunction before Goldstein’s team filed three different appellate briefs to the Tenth Circuit in just two months, winning on every issue.

Goldstein, one of Law360’s 2016 Most Influential Women in Securities Law, was recently named one of three finalists for “Attorney of the Year” by The New York Law Journal in its New York Legal Awards 2021.

Winners in all categories of the National Law Journal Awards will be recognized at a ceremony at the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, D.C. on October 20.
