Three Dechert Lawyers Recognized for Economic and Legal Insights

October 21, 2022

Every year Business & Legal Forums, the first French Legal and Business participatory think tank, recognizes the best articles and videos on economic and legal issues in France. This year, three of Dechert’s Paris lawyers received the golden feather in both categories:

Sabina Comis and Etienne Bimbeau received the “Golden feather of the Economy & Law” (“Plume d’Or de l’Economie & du Droit”) for their article published by Capital Finance: De la substance au principal purpose test, un changement de paradigme dans la structuration des opérations de LBO internationales. In this article, Sabina and Etienne highlighted the need for a paradigm shift relating to the structuring of LBO transactions in France involving foreign investment funds, due to the new ‘principal purpose test’ introduced in most of the tax treaties through the OECD Multilateral Instrument.

Karen Coppens received the “Golden Camera of Economy & Law” (“Caméra d’Or de l’Economie & du Droit”) for her interview on the Lex Inside program of DécideursTV (Le Monde du Droit): Vers une loi Sapin 3? In this video, Karen provides an overview of how the proposed revisions to the French anti-corruption law would increase obligations and risks for companies operating in France.
