Profiles in Diversity Journal Honors Dechert’s Diversity Achievements for Third Consecutive Year

For the third consecutive year, Dechert has been honored as a “Diversity Leader” by Profiles in Diversity Journal for the efforts of Satra Sampson-Arokium, the firm’s Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. The awards, now in their 15th year, recognize organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to cultivating diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace and beyond.

Over the past year, the Dechert community began to reconnect in person and were reunited through many DEI initiatives. The firm hosted numerous annual events and programs, including the Actionable Allyship and Inclusive Leadership training program, which provides education on allyship, privilege and discrimination to all employees, and the Diverse Associates' Symposium, where associates and counsel from diverse backgrounds gathered in New York to participate in panel discussions, community service and social activities.

Dechert’s affinity groups also hosted many dynamic educational and thought-provoking events throughout the year to celebrate the diverse backgrounds and experiences throughout the firm. The Global Women’s Initiative (GWI) recently hosted the eighth annual Sponsorship and Sustained Support (SASS) Program, providing women associates with mentorship, insights into the path to partnership, and sessions on resiliency, self-advocacy, and defining personal brand.
