Law360 Names Two Dechert Practices as Groups of the Year

Two Dechert practices have been selected by Law360 in this year’s “Practice Groups of the Year” awards, which honor the law firms behind the biggest deals and litigation wins of 2025. The highlighted practices are:

Cybersecurity & Privacy – Dechert’s pioneering Cyber, Privacy & AI practice regularly secures precedent-setting victories in cases involving cutting-edge technologies. Led by Brenda Sharton, a first chair trial lawyer, internationally recognized thought leader, and three-time Law360 MVP, the team also provides data breach response and defense of government regulatory matters and class action litigation to multi-billion-dollar global companies. This year, the team tried the first bet‑the‑company Big Tech privacy case for Flo Health, Inc. in N.D. Cal. when a partial directed verdict eliminated 99.95% of claimed damages; the rest settled within hours for seven figures. The team, previously named a Law360 Practice Group of the Year in 2022, has also advised at the most senior levels of the government, testified before Congress, prosecuted cyber criminals, handled some of the largest, high-profile data breaches, litigation and enforcement actions in the space, negotiated data sharing terms with the EU on behalf of the U.S., and taught one of the first cyber law school classes in the country. 

Real Estate – Dechert’s finance and real estate practice advises on high-value transactions involving commercial real estate loan origination, mezzanine financing and CMBS, CRE-CLO and SFR securitizations secured by properties throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The team, a two-time Law360 Practice Group of the Year winner, is the market leader in representing lenders in making loans intended for a  “single asset single borrower” (SASB) securitization execution, typically handling some 50 percent of all SASB deals in the United States in excess of $1bb.
