Law360 Honors Two Dechert Partners as MVPs of the Year for 2026

November 03, 2026

Two Dechert partners have been selected as MVPs of the Year for 2026 by leading legal publication Law360. Each year, the publication names just a handful of lawyers per practice area across a range of legal disciplines. Those selected as MVPs are judged to have achieved the biggest wins or made the most significant contributions to their practice areas in the past year.

This year, Law360 honored the following Dechert partners:

Mark Cheffo, co-chair of Dechert’s global litigation practice and a member of the firm’s governing Policy Committee, was named an MVP for Product Liability for the third time. Mr. Cheffo has extensive experience serving as national coordinating and trial counsel in complex product liability, insurance and mass torts litigation. He acts for corporations and individuals in the pharmaceutical, medical device manufacturing, bioengineering, insurance and industrial products industries, amongst others. He has also handled numerous toxic and environmental exposure suits. Mr. Cheffo has taken part in several trial teams in high-profile pharmaceutical litigation, managing all stages of a dispute from negotiation, through pre-trial proceedings to trial. Widely recognized as a leader in the field, Mr. Cheffo holds a Band 1 ranking from Chambers USA and is acknowledged as a Leading Lawyer by The Legal 500 U.S. for product liability and mass torts matters. He was previously named a Law360 MVP in 2019 and 2020.

Brenda Sharton, global chair of Dechert’s cyber, privacy and AI practice group, was named an MVP for Cybersecurity & Privacy for the fourth time. Ms. Sharton, a first chair trial lawyer and internationally recognized thought leader and pioneer in privacy, cybersecurity and AI law, represents public and private corporations and their boards in complex commercial litigation, class action defense, ADR proceedings, investigations and civil government/regulatory and enforcement matters. Recently, in the N.D. California, she was lead counsel in the first Big Tech privacy case ever to go to a jury trial. The claims involved multiple billions of dollars in damages, among the largest damages claim in a consumer class action in U.S. history and the outcome was successful. For well over a decade, Ms. Sharton has been ranked as a Leading Lawyer by The Legal 500 for Cyber Law and Data Protection/Breach Response. Previously named a Law360 MVP in 2022, 2024 and 2025, she was also recognized by the Financial Times in the Top 10 Most Innovative Lawyers in North America.

Profiles of this year’s MVPs will be published by Law360 in the coming weeks.
