Law360 Honors Dechert’s Georgina McLeod as a Rising Star in Fintech

Georgina McLeod, a New York-based partner in Dechert’s Global Finance practice, has been named a “Rising Star in Fintech” by Law360 for 2026. The annual award recognizes lawyers under 40 whose accomplishments distinguish them as emerging leaders in their practice areas.
Ms. McLeod advises fintech companies, asset managers, banks and other market participants on complex structured finance and securitization transactions. She is widely recognized for her work at the intersection of technology, consumer finance and capital markets, helping clients develop innovative funding structures and navigate evolving regulatory frameworks.
Among her notable recent work, Ms. McLeod co-led Dechert’s representation of Pagaya in connection with the first U.S. securitization of Klarna-originated buy-now-pay-later loans and has served as lead counsel on more than 60 transactions under Pagaya’s flagship PAID unsecured consumer loan securitization program, which has supported more than US$28.5 billion in issuance. She also advised on other groundbreaking transactions, including Edge Focus’s inaugural 144A securitization, Prosper’s first pre-funded securitization and advised Fasanara as mezzanine lender on a series of cross-border credit facilities supporting Colombian fintech buy-now-pay-later platform Addi. Through this work, Ms. McLeod has helped clients access institutional capital, establish scalable funding platforms and bring innovative financial products to market.
