ERISA's Fiduciary Rule Is Dead - Done, Done, on to the Next One

August 29, 2018

In one fell swoop, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has chopped down the U.S. Department of Labor's amended fiduciary rule. The incredibly controversial rule had changed the way financial institutions were doing business, with an impact even going beyond the world of retirement arrangements.

Dechert partners Andrew Oringer and Steven Rabitz have been closely following the rule's development and demise from the outset, having extensively written and spoken regarding the rule and been interviewed by a variety of news outlets on the topic. In this webinar, Drew and Steve consider how we got to where we are and where we have landed for now. They also discuss where we may be going, both in terms of the legal landscape and existing and emerging market practice.
