David Hughes Joins Dechert as Litigation Partner in London

Global specialist law firm Dechert LLP announced today that David Hughes has joined the firm as a partner in the litigation group. Hughes was most recently the Head of Banking and Finance Litigation at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP.

“David’s reputation and experience are outstanding and a perfect fit for our global litigation practice,” said Neil Gerrard, Deputy Chairman of Dechert’s global litigation practice. “He will be a tremendous asset to our clients and will enhance our London-based banking litigation and regulatory enforcement practice.”

The primary focus of his practice is providing litigation and dispute resolution representation to banks and other major financial institutions. He has a background in conducting financial regulation reviews and was appointed under s166 FiSMA as a Skilled Person on the swap mis-selling review for two major banks. His experience also includes asset recovery, security enforcement involving capital markets, enforcement of bond structures, swaps and derivatives disputes, money laundering and other regulatory investigations.
