Dechert LLP advised baramundi software AG (baramundi), the Augsburg-based endpoint management specialist, on its sale to WITTENSTEIN Group. WITTENSTEIN acquired the entire share capital of baramundi in a sale structured as an auction process. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.
Baramundi develops and markets the endpoint management software baramundi Management Suite. WITTENSTEIN, based in Igersheim in Baden-Württemberg, develops customized products, systems and solutions for highly dynamic motion, precise positioning and smart networking for electromechanical drive technology. Through the acquisition of baramundi the mechatronics group is gaining strategically important skills for its continued path of digital transformation within the corporate group. baramundi will remain independent in its business activities, and with its new owner, move forward with internationalization and product diversification activities.
The Dechert team was led by Munich based corporate partners Federico G. Pappalardo and Giovanni Russo, with assistance from associates Dr. Karl von Rumohr and Dr. Armin Fary LL.M.
