New York and Washington D.C. Associates Spearhead Community Fundraising Efforts

The Legal Aid Society New York recognized the fundraising efforts of Dechert’s New York office for the 2018 Summer Associates’ Campaign, which (under the leadership of associates at leading New York law firms) raises awareness and vital funds for The Legal Aid Society’s Civil Practice. This was Dechert’s first year participating in the campaign, and the New York office raised more than US$32,000 – putting it in third place overall among all participating firms and first place for firms in the 100-199 associates range. In addition, associate Amanda Rios was highlighted as one of the top individual fundraisers in the program.
Associates in Dechert’s Washington, D.C. office also set a new high-water mark for their efforts in the 2018 Legal Aid’s Generous Associates Campaign, an annual fundraising drive run by associates at D.C. firms each summer. Headed by Amisha Patel, the campaign ended with the participation of 39 associates, 28 partners and 23 business professionals raising more than US$17,000. Five associates — some first-time donors — became Outstanding Generous Associates, and partner Cathy Botticelli was named to the Making Justice Real Giving Circle. In addition, Dechert lawyers regularly volunteer their legal services to D.C. Legal Aid clients throughout the year.
