Dechert LLP acted as legal counsel to Mirae Asset Global Investments, one of Asia's leading independent financial companies with approximately US $400 billion in assets under management, in connection with its entry into a definitive agreement to acquire Global X Management Company LLC, a New York-based sponsor of exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
The acquisition of Global X would add an anchor presence in the United States to Mirae Asset’s existing ETF businesses in Canada (Horizons), Australia (BetaShares) and Asia (Tiger ETF), creating one of the fastest growing ETF management companies in the industry with a truly global ETF footprint.
