Dechert Named Outstanding Firm for Diversity and Inclusion in Europe

October 02, 2019

Dechert was named “Outstanding Firm for Furthering Diversity and Inclusion” by Chambers at its inaugural European Diversity & Inclusion Awards 2019. The firm was lauded for the achievements of its Global Women’s Initiative (GWI) in Europe, which include launching a monthly training program for women at the firm and rolling out a full program of women-focused events and speaking opportunities.

Carol Widger, managing partner of Dechert’s Dublin office, was also “Highly Commended” in the “Diversity Lawyer of the Year: Europe-wide” category for her career-long efforts to foster gender diversity.

In the in-house categories, Michelle Green, general counsel for EMEA and Latin America at Neuberger Berman and a client of Dechert’s Dublin office, was named as a finalist for Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year.

The Chambers award is the second accolade that Dechert has earned this year for its European GWI program. Euromoney named Dechert the “Best International Firm for Talent Management” at its Europe Women in Business Law Awards in June.

Additionally, partner Abbi Cohen and national partner Karen Coppens were named to the HERoes Women Role Model Lists 2019 in September for their work to improve gender diversity in the workplace.

Winners in Chambers’ Diversity & Inclusion Awards were recognized at a ceremony at RAI Amsterdam on October 1.
