Dechert Shortlisted in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific in Private Debt and Private Equity Awards
Dechert’s expertise in the private debt and private equity markets has been recognized with the firm’s shortlisting for seven “Law Firm of the Year” awards by Private Debt Investor (PDI) and Private Equity International (PEI), the publications of record for the world’s private debt and private equity markets. Dechert has been shortlisted in a number of categories in separate contests held for the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
In the PDI Awards 2019, Dechert has been shortlisted in the following categories:
Americas - Law Firm of the Year - for helping a number of leading private credit managers in their fundraising efforts and for counseling on some of private credit’s notable M&A deals.
Europe - Law Firm of the Year - for representing 41 of the PDI 50 biggest fundraisers in some capacity and for advising firms including Apollo, Ares and Wells Fargo across a range of fund formation, structured finance, real estate finance and restructuring mandates.
Asia-Pacific - Law Firm of the Year - for work on several significant private debt fund formation and finance transactions and for success in bankruptcy and restructuring litigation in the region.
In the PEI Awards 2019, Dechert has been shortlisted in the following categories:
Law Firm of the Year - EMEA - Transactions - for advising on more than US$46 billion of private equity deals from London alone, including for GIC (as part of a Blackstone-led consortium) on the US$27 billion sale of Refinitiv, the largest private equity exit of 2019 to that point.
Law Firm of the Year - Asia - Transactions - for advising MBK Partners on its US$1.68 billion sale of Taiwan’s largest cable television and broadband business CNS, among other transactions.
Law Firm of the Year - Asia - Fund formation - for advising on Primavera’s US$3.4 billion third fund, along with another 40-plus private funds.
Law Firm of the Year - Asia - Secondaries - for representing Norinchukin Bank in a US$1.3 billion transaction involving Lexington Partners as purchaser.
Secondaries - LP sale of the year in Asia - Dechert teams were involved in Norinchukin Bank’s sale of two private equity portfolios.
