Abbi Cohen & Karen Coppens named Women Role Models 2019

Dechert LLP partner Abbi Cohen and national partner Karen Coppens have been named to the HERoes Women Role Models Lists 2019, which celebrate female role models who have helped to improve gender diversity in the workplace.
Abbi Cohen, an environmental lawyer who focuses on transactional matters and a partner in Dechert’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group, was named to the HERoes 100 Women Executives List. As deputy chair of Diversity & Inclusion at Dechert, Ms. Cohen oversees firmwide policies, procedures and initiatives that uphold the firm’s core values for supporting diversity and inclusion. She previously chaired Dechert’s Global Women’s Initiative (GWI) for several years, which aims to identify and implement initiatives that promote opportunities for women to advance and lead throughout the firm.
Karen Coppens, a white collar crime and investigations lawyer, was named to the HERoes 50 Women Future Leaders List. Ms. Coppens has been instrumental in driving the efforts of the London chapter of the GWI including devising a monthly training program for females at the firm and organizing women-focused events and speaking opportunities to showcase female expertise. She has also provided mentoring services to more junior women since the start of her career and advised on gender diversity-related pro bono matters.
The HERoes Women Role Models Lists are compiled by a judging panel including Helena Morrissey, Head of Personal Investing, Legal & General Investment Management; Mellody Hobson, President, Ariel Investments; and Suki Sandhu OBE, Founder & CEO INvolve. HERoes is part of INvolve, a global membership organization and consultancy championing diversity and inclusion in business.
