Dechert Completes Pro Bono Investigation Into City of Philadelphia’s Possession of Human Remains From 1985 MOVE Bombing
In May 2021, the City of Philadelphia engaged Dechert LLP on a pro bono basis to conduct an independent investigation regarding the City’s possession of human remains from the 1985 bombing of the MOVE organization. The City also engaged Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP to review the policies and procedures of the City’s Medical Examiner’s Office.
Dechert noted, “It was an honor to work on our portion of the independent investigation into the chain of custody of the City of Philadelphia’s possession of remains of victims of the 1985 bombing of the MOVE organization. We refer to the substance of our portion of the report and to the City for any further comment.”
