Dechert Hosts Eighth Annual SASS Program for Women Lawyers

Dechert’s Global Women’s Initiative (GWI) will hold its eighth annual Sponsorship and Sustained Support (SASS) program for senior women associates, counsel and national partners the week of March 7-11.

Launched in 2015, the program assists women in navigating the path to partnership by providing targeted individual and small group support, including skill-level appropriate workshops, individualized attention from Dechert partners, and access to consultants and advisors.

The 2023 program theme, “Resilient and Ready,” will be highlighted throughout the week’s programming and networking opportunities. Workshops include business plan development; strategies for cross-practice collaboration; insights into the path to partnership from recently promoted partners; advice from rainmakers and more.

The SASS program aligns with the firm’s International Women’s Day event on March 9, featuring New York Times bestseller, advocate and public health expert Chelsea Clinton.

Five years prior to SASS implementation in 2015, 18 percent of lawyers promoted to partner were women. In 2023, 53 percent of lawyers promoted to partner at Dechert were women.
