Stephen Choi regularly advises U.S. registered investment companies, including mutual funds and closed-end funds, on a range of regulatory and compliance matters. Mr. Choi also counsels clients on the development and distribution of variable annuities and life insurance products. In addition, Mr. Choi has experience in various derivatives matters, including negotiation and preparation of derivatives transaction documents and registered funds’ use of derivatives.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Choi served as an associate in the financial services regulatory practice group of another law firm where he concentrated on federal and state securities law and state insurance law issues relating to the development and distribution of variable insurance products. He also served as a law clerk at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
