Erica M. D’Amato, Ph.D. is a registered patent agent with experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications worldwide. Dr. D’Amato focuses her practice on chemical and pharmaceutical intellectual property matters and has worked with clients in all stages of drug discovery and development. She assists clients with strategic creation and management of their patent portfolios throughout the lifecycle of their products.

Dr. D’Amato also has experience in performing IP due diligence assessments, as well as freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses. She also assists clients with landscape reviews and competitive surveillance.

Prior to joining Dechert, Dr. D’Amato worked as a patent agent at a Boston-based law firm. Before entering the legal field, she earned her Ph.D. at Harvard University, where her research in organic and organometallic methodologies was published in Chemical Science, ACS Central Science, and Organometallics.
