Peter Diez, Ph.D. works as a patent agent preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications as part of Dechert’s patent counseling and prosecution practice group. Dr. Diez has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute and over two years of industrial experience in quantitative analytical chemistry via liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Dr. Diez’s thesis research at Scripps resulted in two first-author publications in Journal of the American Chemical Society and Angewandte Chemie International Edition highlighting a novel cross-coupling methodology to achieve the shortest known synthesis of natural product vittatalactone and the northern fragment of natural product borrelidin.

Prior to joining Dechert, Dr. Diez worked for two AmLaw 100 firms as a patent agent.
