Michael A. Fazio

Michael A. Fazio concentrates his practice on mass torts and products liability litigation, with particular experience in environmental ligation. He has substantial experience in defending complex class actions, including those involving claims for medical monitoring, property damage, and consumer fraud. Mr. Fazio’s clients include companies from the performance materials, consumer goods, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.

Mr. Fazio has experience with many aspects of litigation strategy, including fact discovery, expert discovery, motions practice, and appeals. His environmental practice encompasses claims under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and related federal and state environmental statutes, including matters involving site remediations and regulatory compliance. Mr. Fazio is well-versed in litigation and counseling related to Perfluoroalkyl Substances (“PFAS”). In addition, he is well-versed in developing expert witnesses across a wide range of scientific and technical areas, including hydrogeology, air dispersion, and property appraisal. Mr. Fazio also has experience preparing company witnesses for deposition and trial.

Mr. Fazio also maintains an active pro bono practice and is representing the estate of an individual alleging negligence and other legal claims arising out of confinement at an immigration detention facility. In connection with this work, Mr. Fazio and other members of the team were awarded the firm’s Samuel E. Klein Pro Bono award in 2026. Mr. Fazio joined Dechert as a summer associate in 2016.
