Alexander Karampatsos regularly advises U.S. registered investment companies (including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and closed-end funds) and their investment advisers in a wide variety of regulatory, transactional and compliance matters, including complex fund merger transactions, the development and launch of new funds, the preparation of registration and proxy statements and seeking exemptive relief from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He also advises boards of directors/trustees of U.S. registered investment companies on fund governance and fiduciary oversight matters. 

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Karampatsos served as associate counsel at a large U.S. based financial services company where he advised on matters relating to the distribution of securities.
