Andrew P. Pontano

Andrew P. Pontano, a partner in Dechert's global finance practice, leads Dechert's Asset Finance and Securitization group. He advises clients regarding public and private securities offerings and other complex finance transactions involving a wide range of asset classes, including auto loans and leases, unsecured consumer loans, credit card, student loans, equipment lease and trade receivables, residential mortgage loans and mortgage servicing rights and whole business securitization. He has represented lenders, borrowers, asset originators and servicers, ABCP conduits, issuers, underwriters, placement agents, trustees, rating agencies and others.

In addition to structured finance transactions, Mr. Pontano regularly assists clients in connection with ABL, mezzanine and subordinate debt financing arrangements, as well as purchases and sales of asset portfolios.

Mr. Pontano also has significant experience with derivative instruments, including interest rate and currency hedges, and syndicated loan transactions.

Mr. Pontano has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in asset-backed securitization. The Legal 500 US also recommends Mr. Pontano as a leading lawyer in fintech due to his knowledge of public and private securities offerings with clients noting “Andrew Pontano is friendly, professional, a problem solver, and a great person to work with”.
