Miles Alexander Taylor is an associate in Dechert's New York office. His practice focuses primarily on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including the representation of debtors, creditors and other interested parties in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, Chapter 15 and cross-border proceedings and related transactions.
Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Taylor served as a law clerk to the Honorable Craig T. Goldblatt, Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Delaware.
Key Matters
- An Ad Hoc Group of Holders of Revenue Bonds issued by Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (“PREPA”), a public electric utility company in Puerto Rico, in connection with PREPA’s Title III restructuring and related litigation under PROMESA. The Ad Hoc Group, holding approximately US$2.3 billion in uninsured Revenue Bonds, engaged Dechert to challenge on appeal to the First Circuit two adverse District Court’s decisions which substantially impaired the lien rights of the PREPA bondholders, and to oppose confirmation of the multi-billion Plan of Adjustment proposed by the Oversight Board, which seeks to drastically reduce the distributable value to the PREPA bondholders.
- The ad hoc group of secured lenders to Tupperware Brands Corporation in connection with the Chapter 11 case of Tupperware Brands and its subsidiaries filed in Wilmington, Delaware. Dechert advised the ad hoc group, among other things, in connection with the acquisition of global rights to the Tupperware brand, intellectual property and operations in key markets pursuant to a sale authorized under section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code.
- An ad hoc group of prepetition lenders from MVK FarmCo LLC (Prima Wawona) in connection with an out-of-court bridge-to-DIP facility and a subsequent emergency financing leading up to a Chapter 11 filing.
- A parent company of Mainstream Renewable Power Ltd. in connection with Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings of various subsidiaries in Chile and the Southern District of Texas.
- Envision Healthcare Co.’s Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in connection with the debtors’ bankruptcy cases.
- Orbital Infrastructure Group, Inc.’s Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in connection with the debtors’ bankruptcy cases.
- An ad hoc group of term lenders from Nautical Solutions, L.L.C. in Chapter 11 cases, resulting in the consensual settlement of all claims held against the debtor.

- Sanchez Energy Corporation, an upstream energy company, in its restructuring of approximately US$2.3 billion in liabilities.
- FirstEnergy Solutions Corporation, an electric utility company that services roughly one million residential, commercial and industrial customers, in its restructuring of approximately US$3.8 billion in liabilities.
- The voluntary administrators of Virgin Australia Holdings, Ltd., with respect to AU$1.9 billion, successfully obtaining recognition of the Australian foreign main proceeding in the Southern District of New York.
- An ad hoc group of first lien lenders from CEC Entertainment, Inc. and its affiliates in Chapter 11 cases involving US$2 billion in liabilities.
- An ad hoc group of senior noteholders from Aeroméxico, Mexico’s flagship airline, and its affiliates in Chapter 11 cases involving US$2 billion in liabilities.
- An ad hoc group of secured term lenders in an out-of-court recapitalization of Travelport Worldwide, a provider of distribution, technology and payment solutions for the travel and tourism industry.
- LifeCare Health Partners in the Chapter 11 liquidation of substantially all of its assets.
- Perkins & Marie Callender LLC and its affiliates in its Chapter 11 case involving US$115.2 million in liabilities.
- Noteholders participating in the out-of-court restructuring of Tapstone Energy.
