Dechert LLP has topped the Creditflux CLO Global Manager Counsel Rankings for Q1 2023. This lead came off the back of working on 20 US CLOs, for an advantage of US$1.43 billion. In one such deal, Dechert represented Invesco as collateral manager to price its first CLO of 2023. With a value of more than US$596 million, it was the fifth largest CLO in Invesco's history and contributed to the company’s big jump as compared with last quarter’s rankings. Jon Burke served as the lead partner on the deal and the team also included global finance partner Richard Pugh, tax partner Jeff Kang, and global finance associate Will Cox.
This ranking builds on the Dechert team’s 2022 success, where they finished the year as #1 top issuer counsel for U.S. CLOs, according to Asset-Backed Alert.
Dechert recently expanded its structured credit and CLO practice with the addition of London partner Aaron Scott. He joins a strong bench of CLO lawyers in London, including counsel Glenn Weston and senior associate Rory O’Connor. Dechert’s continued global expansion speaks to the tremendous recent growth in the structured credit and CLO space, as well as the significant growth potential the firm sees for its client base in the $1.4 trillion private credit market.
