Financial News Names Sabina Comis Among the Most Influential Lawyers in Europe

Dechert LLP’s Paris-based tax partner Sabina Comis has been named to Financial News’ “Most Influential Lawyers” list for 2023, which profiles the 50 most influential individuals working in Europe’s legal profession.

As a result of her recognition by Financial News, Ms. Comis was also named among the Twenty Most Influential Private Equity Lawyers in Europe by sister publication Private Equity News in its inaugural list of the leading legal minds in Europe’s buyout industry.

Ms. Comis, an elected member of Dechert’s global Policy Committee, also sits on the two-person management committee that oversees Dechert’s Paris office.

Dechert recently announced Ms. Comis’s election as a global managing partner of the firm, a role that becomes effective in July when the current Dechert leadership terms end.

Ms. Comis advises French and international companies, family offices, and private equity funds on domestic and international tax structuring that arises from complex corporate transactions, restructurings and refinancings, often involving multiple sponsors. She is one of the few French practitioners able to offer sophisticated tax advice and handle the legal and regulatory side of fund formation.

Ms. Comis was recognized as Law360’s “MVP of the Year” for Tax in 2021 and recognized as “Tax Lawyer of the Year” in the Euromoney / Legal Media Group’s European Women in Business Law Awards 2021. She has long been ranked as a “Leading Individual” in Chambers Europe and The Legal 500 EMEA.  

Profiles in Diversity Journal also named her to its 2021 “Women Worth Watching in Leadership” list, a series profiling women leaders who have made significant contributions to their respective organizations and industries.
