2018 Unwrapped: A Seminar on Recent Employment Law Developments

December 04, 2018
Dechert LLP London

Employment law never stands still, and 2018 has proved to be no exception. In this seminar, speakers from Dechert's London Employment Law Team will report on some of the key developments in UK employment law and their practical implications for employers in managing their workforces and associated risks.

Topics to be addressed will include:

  • The employment environment – wider issues facing employers such as the operation of the employment tribunal system, Brexit, the gig economy litigation and #metoo.
  • Leave liabilities – holiday pay, shared parental leave and sickness absence issues.
  • Disclosure difficulties – internal communications, subject access requests, legal privilege and the role of HR.
  • Case law conundrums – some highlights from the 2018 case law in areas such as disability discrimination, references, whistleblowing, constructive dismissal and vicarious liability of employers for employees’ wrongdoing.

After the presentations, attendees will be very welcome to stay for Christmas drinks and further discussion.
