Triple Win for Dechert at Euromoney’s European Women in Business Law Awards

This year, two Dechert lawyers were highlighted as the best in their practice areas, while the firm itself was recognized for its achievements in talent management. Two additional lawyers were also shortlisted in other categories.

Dechert was named “Best International Firm for Talent Management” for an ambitious series of training initiatives aimed at women lawyers and business professionals in the firm’s London office. Rolled out under the auspices of the firm’s Global Women’s Initiative, the initiatives have helped moved the needle on gender diversity in the London office.

Litigation partner Dorothy Cory-Wright, head of the commercial disputes practice in London, was honored as “Best in Litigation.” Ms. Cory-Wright advises on complex commercial litigation, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution and contentious regulatory issues, including monitorships. Her cases are frequently multi-jurisdictional and involve issues of global market importance. An outspoken advocate for women’s progression, Ms. Cory-Wright also plays a key role within the firm’s Global Women’s Initiative in London.

Litigation associate Karen Coppens was named as a “Rising Star in Litigation”. A criminal defense and investigations lawyer, Ms. Coppens has played a key role in some of the firm’s biggest and most groundbreaking investigations. She has also been heavily invested in pro bono matters and has received recognition for mentoring junior lawyers and for promoting the advancement of women at Dechert.

Two other Dechert lawyers also featured in the Euromoney contest: Mikhaelle Schiappacasse, a financial services partner in London, was named a finalist for “Best in Investment Funds”, while Sabina Comis, a tax partner in the Paris office, was named a finalist for “Best in Tax”.

Winners were announced at a ceremony at London’s Savoy Hotel on June 13.
