Ellen Sachs advises on a broad range of structured finance structures across a variety of asset classes, including securitizations of mortgage loans and other receivables in the UK and across Europe. Ms. Sachs has experience representing clients on both the arranger, investor and originator sides.

Prior to joining Dechert, Ms. Sachs was a lawyer in the securitization practice of a Magic Circle law firm in London. Ms. Sachs also spent over a year on secondment at one of the UK’s largest financial services organizations supporting the securitization and collateral management desk in the bank’s corporate treasury department. Prior to moving to London, Ms. Sachs worked as a lawyer in Sydney, Australia.

    • A leading global alternative investment management company on its loan-on-loan financing from a leading global financial institution, in connection with financing to be made available by it to another leading global alternative investment management company for the acquisition of logistics warehouses, including several in development, in the United Kingdom.
    • UK mortgage originators on public residential mortgage-backed securitizations listed both in the UK and in other European markets (including Ireland and Luxembourg).
    • A bank as an investor in a securitization of repurchase transactions.
    • A real estate investor in connection with a loan-on-loan transaction funded through the issuance of a variable note backed by commercial real estate development loans.
    • A global investment bank on amending a mid-market CLO for a facility upsize and additional borrowers.
    • A financial services group in relation to accessing government funding schemes.
    • A bank issuer on annual updates to its covered bond programs.
    • A bank issuer on an auto loan receivables securitization.
    • Clients on the cessation of LIBOR by both trustee consent and noteholder consent solicitation.

    • An Afghan interpreter on his special visa application and co-ordinating the evacuation of the client and his family from Kahbul during the Taliban takeover August 2021.
    • A not-for-profit organisation on a comparative law research project reviewing sexual health and reproductive rights for women and girls in Francophone Africa.
