Update on U.S. regulation of funds and asset managers: Implications for Europe

Dechert partner David Harris and associate Brenden Carroll will speak at a workshop titled “Update on U.S. regulation of funds and asset managers: Implications for Europe.” The workshop will discuss the following topics:
- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) rule proposals relating to:
- Enhanced data reporting for funds and advisers;
- Liquidity risk management programs for mutual funds;
- Limitations on mutual fund leverage and derivatives; and
- Business continuity plans for investment advisers.
- An update on discussions with the Volcker Agencies regarding the treatment of “foreign excluded funds;” and
- An update on SEC and Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) developments regarding potential designation of asset managers as “systemically important.”
