Dechert Advises Groupe Baelen SAS on Acquisition of APA-Tec GmbH Automation and Packaging Technology

Dechert advised Groupe Baelen SAS, a French-based family office investor, on the acquisition of 100 percent of the shares in APA-Tec GmbH Automation and Packaging Technology, a family-founded and -owned company based in Böbingen near Stuttgart. APA-Tec specializes in planning and implementing automation solutions for general mechanical engineering and packaging machine construction, with a particular focus on retrofitting and modernizing packaging plants. As such, the acquisition complements Groupe Baelen’s existing MachiNext-business. The transaction marks Groupe Baelen’s entry into the German market, following its incorporation of a German intermediary holding company earlier this year.
