Dechert Advises Septeo and majority shareholder, Hg, on Acquisition of stp.one from Bregal

Dechert advised Septeo and its majority shareholder, Hg, on Septeo’s acquisition of stp.one, a strategic European provider of legal technology software, from BU Bregal Unternehmerkapital.

Completion of the transaction is expected in the first quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Stp.one is the sector leader in the DACH region with its AI focused and scalable SaaS legal tech platform, employs over 400 people at 12 locations and serves more than 8,000 customers, such as law firms, insolvency administrators and corporate legal departments.

Septeo is a leading French and European provider of software solutions and one of the top 10 software groups in France with over 3,200 employees. Hg is a London-based private equity firm with offices in Munich, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Singapore. Hg invests in European and transatlantic software and services businesses and currently has over US$100 billion of assets under management.
