Richard D. Jones, chair of Dechert’s global finance and real estate practice groups, focuses his practice on capital markets and mortgage finance. Under Mr. Jones’ leadership, the practice was named the winner of the 2015 Law Firm Award for Real Estate by leading legal directory The Legal 500, which also described Mr. Jones as “one of the savviest capital markets/mortgage finance lawyers in America’s real estate sector.” In addition, Mr. Jones is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA, which, in a recent edition, cited him as receiving “extensive praise for delivering high-level client service” and having “a fabulous reputation in the finance world."

Widely recognized as a leader in the industry, he received the CREFC Founders Award and the Distinguished Service Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) for his leadership.

Mr. Jones frequently publishes and speaks on a wide range of issues affecting the capital markets and mortgage finance markets. He is the founder of, and principal author of, the Dechert blog, Crunched Credit, which takes a critical look at the global financial markets.
